Welcome news for both early birds and night owls.

A ferry fraca looms once again with the recent introduction of newcomer Sealink to the Rottnest Island run. Since the demise of Oceanic Cruises in late 2009, Rottnest Express has enjoyed the lion's share of the market, further expanding it's operations onto the island through bus tours, aqua adventure tours, and most recently the acquisition and rebranding of the original Rottnest Tearooms, now trading as Thomson's Restaurant.

With Sealink already a major marine transport operator in other parts of Australia, including Kangaroo (SA), Magnetic (QLD), and the Tiwi Islands (NT), we may assume they know how to operate a ferry. With plans to be the first and last ferry to and from Rottnest every single day, one thing is for sure, the customer will benefit. If not financially, then definitely in the convenience stakes. Just check out their current timetable for proof!
