Self taught in the art of traditional landscapes, photographer Cale McMillen is both a long term Rottnest resident and sixth generation descendant of island pioneer, Francis Armstrong. Originally working with the classic Hasselblad Xpan camera and colour saturated Velvia 100 film, his passion lies in finely composed panoramic images.

Traditionally known as Wadjemup, time spent away from the island throughout 2015 had him once again dreaming vividly of its landscapes, which cemented the decision to resettle indefinitely. In 2016 he returned with a driven purpose; to curate the 'Rottnest Dreaming' collection. Inspired by over 15 years in paradise, this is Rottnest Island at its magical best.

The legacy of Cale McMillen’s 4x great grandfather remains strong on the island.
